In order to be able to apply the principles of correct patient handling in daily practice, one should regularly 'refresh' the techniques learnt. After all, changing attitudes is a long-term project project, which requires a good deal of repetition and practice. It is advisable to refresh these techniques annually, but we are well aware that such refresher training often is not feasible.
For this reason, IDEWE has developed this CD-ROM that users can use to refresh their knowledge interactively. This medium is the perfect complement to the basic training. In fact it is a high quality and efficient alternative to refresher training.

Is there cause for worry in the care sector?
Institutions in the care sector, with the exception of hospitals, in general are not considered to be risk bearing.
However, statistics on occupational accidents, infectious diseases, back complaints, psychosocial strain for the people working in this sector tells an entirely different story.
Fortunately, institutions in the care sector are usually prepared to devote the necessary attention to the well-being of their personnel and to environmental performance. However, the information on regulations tends to be rather unstructured and definitely not aimed specifically at the care sector.
