Use of state register number
The ‘Sectorial State Register Committee’ empowers the External Services for the Prevention and Protection at Work, among which IDEWE, to use the employees’ state register number in any communication with the associated employers, in order to ensure optimal follow-up of the individual and prevention files. IDEWE is only entitled to use the state register number in its relation with the employers in order to receive or provide information about the holder of the identification number within the framework of the obligations imposed by law or any regulation, such as among others the regulation regarding professional diseases and labour accidents. It is important to take into account that the employers are only entitled to know the INSZ or state register number for the time required to carry out their obligations towards the External Services for the Prevention and Protection at Work with that objective only (deliberation 25/2008 of 4th June 2008 of the Sectorial State Register Committee, established by the Privacy committee) unless the employer should dispose of a specific permission to manage the INSZ number himself.
