General Terms and Conditions – IDEWE research panel
Information for participants with clause regarding the processing of personal data (privacy policy)
- IDEWE Group, with its registered office at Interleuvenlaan 58, 3001 Leuven, is the entity responsible for processing the data shared by you and the personal data it acquires from you.
- IDEWE guarantees the strict confidentiality of all participants’ data. All data will be stored on an individualised basis to allow us to study effects over time. Such data is covered by professional secrecy. It will be used only in group analyses and individuals will not be identifiable. The researcher will perform analyses on anonymised data. Under no circumstances will individual data be transferred to your employer or other employees in your organisation or to other third parties outside IDEWE. IDEWE monitors compliance with professional secrecy and has set up procedures to ensure confidentiality. Every person involved in entering and analysing data is bound by the confidentiality rule. If results are reported externally, employees and the employer will not be identifiable. This study protocol was submitted for opinion to the Social and Societal Ethics Committee (SMEC) at KU Leuven. The data remains the property of IDEWE.
- Personal data will only be processed for the following purposes: carrying out statistical analyses within the context of scientific studies and distributing or reporting the results in research reports, press releases and scientific articles and presentations. These purposes derive from the Act of 4 August 1996 regarding the wellbeing of employees at work and its implementing decisions, the Belgian General Regulations for Occupational Health and Safety and other regulatory provisions that may apply or be relevant to external services for prevention and protection at work.
The data may also be added to a database containing all survey data collected by IDEWE, which may be used for scientific research. Study results may be disseminated or published; however, only the results for groups of employees and employers will be published and the names of organisations and individual employees will not be disclosed. We may work in cooperation with external research partners such as Flemish universities. These partners will be asked to comply with the contractual confidentiality undertakings laid down by IDEWE and will then be able to access only pseudonymised data.
- Health-related personal data is always processed under the responsibility of the competent healthcare practitioner and in accordance with the legislation on the processing of personal data.
- The personal data may be accessed by the following categories of recipients: the ICT department staff and the Knowledge, Information and Research (KIR) department staff at IDEWE. You may request a list of the relevant recipients from IDEWE. All categories of recipients are legally or contractually bound by a duty of confidentiality.
- You have the right to access your data. If this data is incorrect, incomplete or no longer relevant, you can request correction or deletion of the data. For an overview of your rights and the relevant procedures, please see our privacy policy.
